I have the masterbuilt electric smoker (see link below) , and wanted to use a Veranda cover, but they
dont make this size, so I chose this cover instead. It works and fits great.

20LB Lump Charcoal Review

Lump charcoal is generally hard to find and expensive, but its extremely low ash production, fast lighting, and ability to be re-used in the right kind of grill make it well worth while.Milazzo lump charcoal works as well as any that I have found including the much more expensive Big Green Egg brand.It seems ridiculous buying charcoal over the web - and shipping does cost more that the charcoal - but the bottom line is not significantly worse than purchasing a more expensive brand locally.And in my area, where the local dealers are an incredible pain to deal with, this is an excellent alternative.

Brinkmann 852-7080-7 Gourmet Charcoal Smoker and Grill, Black Review

Have had two of these.They perform pretty well (for the money) overall, but don't expect them to last overly long.The feet are made from sheetmetal, and are prone to rust.Regulating heat can be tricky.Thermometer is functional, but just barely.Having said that, they have surprisingly good capacity.I have smoked several turkeys over time with them, and had great results.Same thing applies with pork shoulders.It can be difficult to replenish both water and charcoal, but you can do it if you're not in a big hurry.

Weber 7542 Cast Iron Griddle Review

I use this on a Summit Gold 6 burner grill. With the side burner, the regular section of the grill, and this griddle I can cook almost anything outside. Cast iron gets hot and retains the heat. I was considering Mario Batali's piastra, but this has a larger cooking area and I think will be more durable. Too bad it didn't come seasoned.

Char-Griller 5555 Cover, Fits 1224, 2121 Review

We purchased this grill cover with our grill last summer.It is attactive and fits our Charbroil smoker grill with smoker box very well.However, it faded considerably more than expected with the summer sun and it has not held up well in the cold weather.The material is very brittle and cracked and split when we took the cover off to grill on a 40 degree day.I'm now searching for another cover to fit our grill and will not purchase this one again.

Landmann USA 590130 Black Dog 28 Charcoal Grill Review

It is now May 28, 2010. I Purchased this grill (2) years ago.... I figure it only gets about (3) months or so a year of use before being packed away for the season, so the grill has seen approx 6 months of use over my 2 years of ownership. When I went to use it for my 3rd season the unit was totally unusable. RUSTED TOTALLY THROUGH!!!.

I contacted the manufacturer, LANDMANN USA, sent them photos detailing the damage, advising them the unit was always kept covered as well including pictures of the cover on the unit showing how it actually molded itself to the unit from being covered so much. Rather than trying to resolve this situation,they put me through numerous voice mails, promised to return calls and never did and finally accused me of keeping the unit exposed to the elements, not maintaining the grill and it rusting away was all my fault. They actually accused me and are trying to pass off their choice to use poor quality materials in making this grill as if it were my fault the unit rusted away.

Contact Me, I will be happy to provide you copies of our back & forth correspondence if there's any doubt.

The grill is a piece of _______! They claim to use "Heavy Duty Steel", at who's standards?... yea if you compare the wall thickness to aluminum foil. My unit actually has rust holes in the Ash Tray & Side Walls.

I feel I'm fair, I give honest reviews. I've given this manufacturer every opportunity to resolve this issue and restore my confidence in their company and they flat out would rather accuse me of not caring for my belongings while I can prove otherwise.

At this point I have contacted the Georgia State Department Of Consumer Affairs and have registered a complaint against Landmann USA.

Unless they make a better effort to show how good of a company they are and stand behind their products, I would not recommend this grill.

It's up to them.

Weber 60020 The Ranch Charcoal Kettle Review

I have a family of 7 with a few extra around a lot of the time. Grilling used to be a step by step process which usually meant I ate after everyone else because I was still cooking when most were eating. We like to do meat and vegetables on the grill and with this grill I can do it all at once and sit down with the family and enjoy! You can build your fire off center and spin the grate to move one item off and another item over the flame. You can also build small fires on two sides and put meat in the middle and smoke anything. Easy to control vents allow you to regulate the heat and burn time of the coals. Also it doesn't use a bag of cahrcoal at a time as you might think. You can use one Weber Chimney Starter (which I also recommend)full to cook most items. The grate is TOP quality. I used to go through a grate a year on my old Weber Kettle. This grate is beefy and I think must be finished better. No rust at all after two years. The only thing that keeps me from rating this 5 stars is dealing with ashes. You have to remove both grates (and the cooking grate is a handful)and shovel ashes out. The bottom has three vents that are not made for ash removal. At least you can cook a ton before ashes become a problem. It is expensive and a load but I would do it again in a heartbeat if a tornado came and blew it away. That is about the only thing I can think of that would keep this thing from lasting for 20 years or more.

Weber 7532 Cast Iron Griddle Review

I took a chance and purchased this griddle about 1 month ago and after using it several times I can highly recommend it. Prior to using it for cooking I seasoned the griddle with shortening. This is easy to do and you can find some very good websites on how to care for and use a cast iron griddle. Thus far I have cooked bacon, eggs and pancakes using this griddle with excellent results each time. It fits perfectly on my Weber E-310 gas grill.

Weber 72501 Replacement Charcoal Grates Review

Ad said the grates were 18". You need to go into the item description to find out the real size.I just looked at the primary ad and purchased the grates.When the grates arrived and were measured they were 12.5".Company would not pay to return them, or refund any shipping charges.Actually, the grates were for an 18" barbecue and not 18" themselves.Company was willing to take them back, but it would have cost me almost $20.00 in shipping charges and nothing to show for it.

Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Aluminum Charcoal and Ash Scoop Review

Before I bought this for moving charcoal the three feet from the container to the grill, I tried using tongs.The little bits always slipped out, particularly when using lump charcoal instead of briquettes. Took forever, too.Then I tried using a plastic mixing bowl.I couldn't get the charcoal to scoop well because the lip was too thick and the bowl wasn't the right shape. Plus, the plastic is now scratched and seems to be permanently black at the top from the charcoal.Clearly not the best idea I've had lately.

This scoop solved all that.It is large, and seems like it would stop a bullet.It has a nice polish that looks nice, while not collecting charcoal dust.All aluminum means it won't rust when left outside (as mine is).

Surprisingly good quality -- it looks like it cost a hundred dollars at a specialty store.Would make a good gift, especially if you notice that the griller in your life has been scratching up the mixing bowls.

Weber 7526 Cooking Grate Review

A leading cooking publication explained the benefits of having a cast iron grill and, in a nutshell, it's all about heat retention.

Recently, I had the misfortune of having the original steel grates on my Weber completely rust through and decided there had to be a better alternative.After a little research, I found that stainless steel replacements were readily available and was going to go with them.As I was doing my research on Amazon, I saw that there were cast iron units also available and decided to research a little further.What I learned was that it takes a temperature of around 300 degrees to brown meat and that cooking drops the temperture of the grates rapidly.For stainless steel, it took about 15 minutes to preheat a grill to 500 degrees.Once the meat was added, it took only 2 minutes for the grate temperature to drop down to 300 degrees.With the cast iron, preheat time increased to 21 minutes, but the grates stayed above 300 degrees for over five minutes.In my own experience with the cast iron, the extra time made a huge difference in how well the grill cooked both burgers and steaks, adding nice grill marks and enhanced flavor.

Cast iron will eventually rust, but these grates are heavy and are enameled so I think they will last alot longer than the original steel, even stainless will degrade over time.You should always preheat your grill and these cast iron grates will make a difference.

Braten Campfire Grill Review

We just bought this grill a couple of days ago and started playing with it that evening. We made sure we seasoned the grill grate well before we used it like the instructions said. Then we made chicken, steak, ribs, hot dogs and pork chops for our family and our neighbors the next couple nights. I know we'll definately take this along when we go camping or fishing. Weber 7535 Flavorizer Bars Review

these are very good replacements after my old ones rusted out.just watch out.it seems that a lot of the dimensions of these bars are wrong on amazon.this specific ad says they are 25.5" but they are really 21.5" which is what i needed.i would suggest first visiting the weber grill site to find the exact model number you need, then go by that when you order from here.

Charcoal Companion Cast Iron 8-3/4-Inch by 4-1/2-Inch Rectangular Grill Press Review

Indeed, one of the few that do not have a screw going through the casting and one of the heaviest, as they make them now - i.e. good for bacon, but not for the thick cuts - not enough weight.
Well-assembled, but with poor casting.Nowhere near smooth, so meat will stick to it.
Honest 3/5.Probably, excellent for bacon, not so great for steaks.

This grill is bigger than it looks, yet, surprisingly light.The item arrived quickly and very well packaged.I'm impressed with the vendor and with the product.There were no reviews posted when I purchased this, so I hesitated (about 3 months) before purchasing, and am happy to report just how pleased I am with this.Additionally the construction, cast iron pieces, is excellent, as well as the sturdy handle, which tucks conveniently away when not in use.You can see it in the photo, a detail I had originally missed.

I had also shopped for the Lodge model most similar, which is in all the stores locally, as well as the Braai grill (at twice the price) Potjie Braai Hibachi.

Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Ultimate Chimney Charcoal Starter with Handle Review

Bought this starter at BBQ's Galore for it's large capacity and hefty feel. After three uses the rivets popped out of the sides that hold the grate, I assume from the weight of a full load of charcoal and high heat. The "heat resistant paint" flaked off and the inside rusted despite a dry summer in San Diego. The bottom sagged, I had to drill and screw sheet metal screws into the bottom grate to get a few more uses from this ill made expensive mistake. I borrowed a friends Weber that he's had for 5 years and it is a much better product. The chimmeny effect does work but barely with this poorly designed product. Get the Weber, I just ordered mine from Amazon. I may buy three (BBQ Gifts) for the price of this wretched device.

Weber Summit S-420 NG Gas Grill - Stainless Steel Review

The grill was pretty easy to set up.Since my back yard is open and exposed, I will chain this beauty down...but there is no easy way to do that, I'll have to drill through the stainless steel.
Reading reviews of other models, I knew that it was going to run hot.But caution!The book of recipes that comes with the grill will make you burn everything up.It does warn that they are extra hot before they get broken in (dirty) but that doesn't say it all.I very nearly ruined 3 meals before I started watching the meat instead of following their instructions to leave the lid down as much as possible.
Always adding olive oil to your meat will make things better.Having a grill that will heat to 500 degrees or more is great, it is easier to clean than my old one.You can bake a pizza in there.
I did not follow the advice from a review on a similar model, I've gone ahead and purchased the Webber cover.While the stainless steel is easy to maintain, the rain and snow leaves too much dirt on it, so I'll cover it in winter.

Thermos 21 1/2 in. Premium charcoal Grill Review

I bought this grill mostly because of its lower price and small size. When I used it, however, the charcoals burned out quickly and never became hot enough to cook anything. Although I've used charcoal grills for years, I tried several solutions thinking that the problems could be with me. These solutions all ended with the same result: charcoals lit up fine, but burned out quickly and produced very little heat.

I finally determined that the issue was that the grill had no bottom grate to hold the briquettes and allow oxygen to circulate under them. Charcoal had to be stacked on top of the grill's solid base. Although the grill has four small ventilation holes in the front, this is not enough. With no bottom grate, oxygen could not properly circulate among the briquettes and they died out.

To fix this I had to create my own bottom grate, and the grill worked much better. So basically, this is an alright grill if you're willing to put in some extra time and supplies to make it usable. But I don't think you should have had to do that.

Weber 72801 Replacement Charcoal Grates Review

I feel the other reviewers rated this incorrectly.This is not the top grate for your food, rather this is for putting the charcoal on in the bottom section.There is no flip-up side option for this, there is no alternate sizing either.It just goes on the bottom of the kettle bowl so you have space for your coals.It is extremely heavy duty, my original grate from 1980 is almost rusted through and I have no need to replace it.But if you do, I'm sure it can last another 20 years.
